My motivation

Originally a librarian, I worked as such for a year in France and for 3 years in England. In the British libraries, I got involved in many different children activities and I started to get interested in children's development. I observed how children took in the library environment and what they enjoyed or didn't enjoy doing. I also noticed the way they really like discovering and learning new things. Later, I enrolled into a training to do the Baby rhyme time and story time. I did this activity with children aged 0 to 6 years old once a week during a year. We had a very nice time, it was very enriching, friendly, welcoming, with lots of joy, laughs and discoveries. This atmosphere is really what I want to offer to you and your children.

Back in France, I gave birth to my son and to observe him evolve became a passion. It has been very natural for me to help him when necessary but always being careful to let him discover and do by himself whenever possible. Two years later, I discovered the Maria Montessori method and I tried to follow that path even more as I love to follow the child's development and his learning abilities. Recently, last year I had 2 weeks training to learn how to use the Maria Montessori method with children age 2 to 6 years old. My wish is to respond to the children’s needs of information without imposing myself upon them.

I am going to do everything I can to allow the children coming to the workshops to discover the English language with lots of fun, in their own time and insight.

Why get into Englilsh sessions before 6 years od?

When the learning process takes place at the right time, we assimilate work with pleasure. In my opinion, it is important to experience a language rather than doing a memorizing work. It is not a case of learning words of vocabulary or sentences by heart but to really live it with workshops that reflects our everyday life, but also by singing, playing, acting and other fun activities that help the children to understand the meaning of a word/sentence rather than having its translation. Children under the age of 6 are really receptive to our gestures when we show them something whatever the language we use. That is the reason why they assimilate a new language so easily when our words are related to our moves or when they experience it through everyday life activities.

Moreover, researchers from the McGill university and the Montreal Neurologic Institute of have demonstrated that to give a child the chance to explore another language, even if this is for a short period of time, can influence the brain in the process of sonorities of a second language later in life, even if the subject doesn't speak that language anymore.
